SUMMARY:An evening with Brahms. Brahms Requiem and Brahms Schicksalslied (S
 ong of Destiny)
DESCRIPTION:\nBrahms Requiem and Song of Destiny\nOrchestra: Docklands Sinf
 onia\nSoloists:&nbsp\; Ross Cummings - Baritone\, Sofia Ticciati - Soprano
 \nConductor: Jordan Theis\n\nBrahms&nbsp\;gained recognition as a composer
 \, pianist\, and conductor\, and wrote numerous works\, but his&nbsp\;Germ
an Requiem&nbsp\;is the only one for a large-scale choral work. It was met
with immediate success\, establishing him as a major force in European mu
sic. The beautiful fourth movement\,&nbsp\;How Lovely are Thy Dwellings\,&
nbsp\;will be particularly familiar\, as it is often performed as a single
piece in its own right.&nbsp\;\n\nTo this day\, the Requiem remains one o
f the most beloved works in the choral repertoire\, not only for its grace
but for its comforting message of hope for the living &ndash\; a reflecti
on on life\, loss\, and consolation.\n\nAnd why not come along to our Free
pre-concert talk at 6:30 about the works we are performing?&nbsp\; Read M
